Brandon Giovanni Hernandez Tapia, the 12-year-old who did not show up after the metro crash on Monday, was found dead this afternoon.

According to what was reported by Carlos Jiménez on his Twitter account, the minor was among the unidentified victims of the mayor’s office of Iztapalapa. The mother said she spoke with the boy’s father, Rigoberto Quiroz García, minutes before the incident that claimed the lives of 24 people.

Information that the Mexico City attorney general’s office (FGJCDMX) had issued until 7 p.m., was that the minor was missing. same they activated an Amber alert to find his whereabouts.

At around 8:00 p.m., Locatel and the government of Mexico updated the list of the deceased and already included little Giovanni. According to reports, the mother was already aware of what had happened.

Marisol Tapia’s odyssey began last Monday night, when she hung up the phone after talking to Rigoberto, the teenager’s father, who told her he was about to get off the metro. Moments later, he turned on the television and heard what had happened to the STC. According to the first videos that started circulating online, as soon as he found out about the accident, he moved from the Zapotitla neighborhood to the Olivos metro station.

“I was on the outskirts and I can’t find him anywhere, in any ambulance. He came to the subway, I can’t find him. [Se llama] Brandon Giovanni Hernández Tapia, is tall, big eyes, thin mouth, white ”, he said in a recording which started to go viral little by little.

The hours passed and around 1:00 a.m., the woman was still looking for her relatives. In a video recorded by various media, the authorities had given her no answer about the plight of her husband and her son, so she began to show desperation.

“Five minutes before [de incidente] I spoke to them, they were on the outskirts. As soon as I turned on the TV the drama had already happened, I came as soon as I saw it. I dialed but none of them answered me. They don’t give me reports here, they just tell you, “go back”, but I need to know my son. I have already sent people to look for them and they are not on the injured list, they were going to search the list of corpses they had, ”said Marisol, with her mother by her side.

A few hours later the women managed to locate Rigoberto, who is admitted to Balbuena hospital and is in serious condition.
