AstraZeneca vaccine: the first batch from Mexico arrives next week

The first batches of the vaccine against covid-19 produced by Mexico Yes Argentina destined for Latin America, are ready and should be delivered to the region next week, announced the Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard.

“We have already verified that (the Mexican laboratory) Liomont has already delivered the corresponding batches to Cofepris (Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks) for their examination and they will complete approximately the first batch on May 24 or 25,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, quoted by the press agency Sputnik.

Some of these first batches are intended for Argentina, where the active ingredient of the vaccine was produced.

Ebrard set a date for the first shipments after the visit to the laboratory factory, located in the state of Queretaro, the center of Mexico, accompanied by the Argentine Ambassador, Carlos Alfonso Tomada, to testify about the packaging process of the active ingredient, reported local media La Jornada.

The Federal Commission for the Protection against Health Risks is already analyzing the first ready batches of vaccine and the authorization should arrive no later than next Monday.
