Coronavirus in Mexico on May 22: in one day, there were 341 deaths

The Ministry of Health indicated that on May 22, they were already adding 221,597 deaths confirmed in Mexico by the new coronavirus (COVID-19). In other words, in the last 24 hours there has been 341 dead.

From the National Palace, he pointed out that Mexico City and the State of Mexico are the entities with the greatest number of active cases Estimates (with a start date of the last 14 days by the positivity index, by entity and epidemiological week). According to the official, until this Friday there is a -86% reduction in bed occupancy rate across the country (general care and ventilator) since the last peak of cases. Regarding the beds of general hospitalization, He detailed that there are 11% of occupied spaces in the country and that those of mechanical ventilation, dedicated to severe COVID-19 patients, have an occupancy of 14%.

During Friday, May 21, 516,563 doses of the antigen against the SARS-CoV-2 virus were injected. In sum, 26,148,948 vaccinations have been applied to date. Of these, 17,858,127 (20%) are vaccinated; 11,720,188 (66%) have full revs and the remaining 6,137,939 are half revs (34%).

55% of vaccines packaged in our country will remain on the national territory and the remaining 45% will be distributed in other Latin American countries, starting with Argentina, which produced the active substance.

As of Monday, May 24 and through Sunday, June 6, 16 states, or half of the country, will display the epidemic risk traffic light in green; 15 others will be in yellow and Quintana Roo, in orange. Again, no state is red with maximum alert.

Authorities are urging citizens to wear face masks, wash their hands at all times or use antibacterial gel and keep a healthy distance, whether they are already vaccinated or the color of the fire their entity is in.
