The Gamaleya Center has confirmed that people vaccinated with the two doses of Sputnik V do not transmit the virus if they are infected and “they have a 14 times lower risk” of seriously suffering from the coronavirus.

Those who were inoculated with components 1 and 2 of the Russian vaccine, if they are infected, “they do not emit a viable virus and are therefore not a source of danger to others”, insured Vladimir Gushchin, head of the laboratory Mechanisms of demographic variability of pathogenic microorganisms from the Russian institute that produced the vaccine.

Information revealed by the RT channel explains that the vaccine Sputnik V uses two different human adenovirus vector technologies, Ad26 and Ad5, which are applied in two injections, to be administered 21 days apart.

This solution does not contain live human adenoviruses but adenoviral vectors which do not multiply and are completely harmless to health.

Sputnik V is 97.6% efficient, as reported on April 19 by the Russian Direct Investment Fund after analyzing data from 3.8 million Russian citizens vaccinated.
