A month of national strike: this is how the mobilizations are progressing on May 28 in Bogotá

This Friday, May 28, marks a month since the start of the national strike in Colombia, and for this reason, a new day of demonstrations has been called at the national level. In Bogotá there have been various demonstrations, sit-ins and even, in the afternoon, cultural and artistic events are planned to commemorate the 31st day of demonstrations. We explain here how the 28 million mobilizations are progressing in the capital of the country.

Likewise, the District Association of Education Workers had called mobilizations from 9:00 a.m. in the national park, from where they would walk through the entire seventh race, passing Calle 72, to the Los Heroes monument.

Various users have also announced on social networks that a platform has been installed in the National Park on which musical and cultural activities will take place during this new day of events in Bogotá.

W Radio also reported that in the Heroes monument Hundreds of protesters have already gathered by this time. In the square, even Sancochos are made for those who are part of the mobilization.

According to the latest Transmilenio report, due to the mobilisations in this neighborhood, the Héroes, Calle 85 and Virrey stations are closed, as is the flower station.

After 2:00 p.m., other mobilizations are also expected in:

– 2:30 p.m .: A sit-in is expected ahead to the success of Calle 134 with Carrera 9, from which will start a march towards the north portal.

5:00 p.m .: Demonstrations in the Hippie Park, from which will start a mobilization at the Monument of Los Héroes.

12:00 p.m. – Heroes’ monument: Cultural support by various musical collectives is expected.

12:30 p.m. – Bosa Foundation Park: There will be an artistic shooting from a collective of graffiti artists. Then, from there, a walk will start towards the southern transport terminal.

2:00 p.m. – Plaza de Bolívar: There will be a stage, and in addition, a concert will take place in which the guest artists will be Adriana Lucía and the group Doctor Krápula.

3:00 p.m. – South Terminal: A cultural shoot by different local artists and a community canelazo will also take place.

La Candelaria Theater: The cultural center announced through its social networks that in support of the national strike, throughout May 28, it would conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings to commemorate the 31st day of mobilizations in Bogotá.

Likewise, other neighborhood groups have announced that they will realize seedlings and canelazos in areas such as La Sevillana, Ciudad Jardín, Fontibón Central Park and the Calle 50 roundabout with Carrera 3.

During this day of events and cultural activities, the president of the CUT also indicated in dialogue with RCN Radio, that they will ask the national government to approve the agreements that have been signed over nine days.
