A 7.5-degree earthquake shook Papua New Guinea: there is a tsunami warning

A magnitude 7.5 earthquake took place Tuesday off the Papua New Guinea, reported the United States Geological Survey, which caused a tsunami warning possible.

The epicenter of the earthquake occurred at 44 kilometers northeast of the Kokopo Island and one 10 kilometers deep. In response to this data, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued an alert.

The Peruvian and Chilean authorities, also based in the Pacific, have ruled that the movement generates waves of danger on its coasts, although they have continued to badyze the information.
