MIAMI, USA.- A Boeing 737 departed the runway after landing at a naval base in the state of Florida during a thunderstorm. He floated in a river without making any victim.

The craft, which arrived from the Guantánamo base in Cuba with 136 pbadengers and 7 crew members, was floating in the shallow waters of a river near a Jacksonville air traffic control station. All the people were evacuated, the authorities said.

"As we were getting off, the plane jumped, creaked, bounced, turned right then left," said Cheryl Bormann, a lawyer aboard CNN. "Then he turned again and stopped abruptly," he continued, noting that oxygen masks had fallen and that the luggage compartments had opened.

Twenty-one adults were transferred to local hospitals, but none were seriously injured, the Jacksonville sheriff's office announced on Twitter. Others were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The plane from Guantanamo was carrying soldiers and their families.

Captain Michael Connor, commander of the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, said at a press conference Saturday morning that it was a "miracle" that there had been more of serious injuries or deaths.

The only concern of the authorities was the disappearance of certain pets who were in the baggage hold and who had not been found.

Federal authorities responsible for transport safety have opened an investigation into the causes of the incident of this aircraft, an 18-year-old 737-800, an older model than the 737 Max that had been immobilized by Boeing after two fatal accidents.
