Another Boeing 737 MAX aircraft model, from Southwest Airlines, had to land Tuesday at the Orlando, Florida airport due to engine problems. The US Federal Aviation Administration reported that the aircraft was not carrying pbadengers due to the ban on the Boeing 737 MAX 8 after the fatal accident in Ethiopia.

According to the official party, the crew declared the emergency after taking off from Orlando International Airport at approximately 2:50 am local time. The plane was transported to Victorville, California, where Southwest retains its aircraft.

The FA said that according to the first data, the urgency would not be related to the software, which would be at the origin of the two fatal accidents, including last year in Indonesia.

After the emergency landing, one of the three runways at the airport was closed for cleaning. It is therefore unclear whether parts of the plane were detached or not. Airport spokeswoman, Carolyn Fennell, said the closure for control and cleaning of the runway was part of the protocol after the forced landings, to verify that no debris remains.

737 Max planes were banned in the United States on March 13, three days after the fatal accident in Ethiopia. This was the second fatal accident caused by this model aircraft, the previous one being held in Indonesia. Despite the ban, US airlines are allowed to move planes but not to carry pbadengers.
