A "Breaking Bad": a teacher has taught his students to make synthetic drugs | Chronic

A professor of pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Matsuyama, Japan, has been accused of teaching his students how to produce synthetic drugs. The teacher was sent back to the prosecutor's office on Tuesday, admitted the charges and incurring a 10-year sentence of imprisonment.

In his defense, Tatsunori Iwamura, 61, said that his goal was to promote "education" of your students and help your "learn".

According to research, the professor managed to have his students produce MDMA, better known as ecstasy, and in 2018 they made another synthetic drug called 5F-QUPIC, reports the company. AFP, according to RT.

Regional authorities also cited several former students involved in the production of banned substances.

Japan's Narcotics Control Act stipulates that investigators must obtain a special permit to develop drugs for academic purposes, which, in the case of Iwamura, had expired.

The teacher was compared by the media to Walter White, the protagonist of the popular American series. The fictional character is a chemistry teacher who teaches one of his students how to make methamphetamine in order to pay for his medical treatment against cancer and to ensure the economic future of his family.
