A cassowary, the most dangerous bird in the world, killed a man in Florida

A southern cbadowary, considered the most dangerous bird in the world, killed a man in Florida, United States.
According to the Miami Herald, the bird, which was in captivity, reportedly attacked 75-year-old Marvin Hajos, who is unclear whether he was the owner or guardian.

The spokesman of the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, Brett Rhodenizer, said that an investigation into the incident was open. On Friday, around 10:30, a witness reported that a man had fallen to the ground and was attacked by a bird near Gainesville, where cbadowary and other wildlife remained in captivity. The man had "serious injuries" and was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from injuries caused by the animal, the paper said.

The cbadowary is a bird that feeds exclusively on fruit, but the claws of its three fingers are dangerous because of the shape of its dagger can reach more than 10 centimeters. The San Diego Zoo guarantees that the cbadowary can "cut off" any predator and poses a potential threat with just one kick.

Native to Australia and New Guinea, it comprises three subspecies and the southern division can measure 1.80 meters, making it the second largest bird in the world. Southern adult casoars weigh up to 70 kilos and females are larger than males. It is considered a peaceful bird, but also because of its characteristics as the most dangerous on the planet.
