A child killed by a train dies after being thrown on the rails in Germany

According to witnesses, the man deliberately pushed them and then tried to escape.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown.

The investigators say they do not believe the suspect knew the victims and they did not know that the attack had any reason.

Interior Minister Horst Seehofer suspended his summer vacation after learning of the attack and announced that he would meet security officials.

"The background of this cruel crime is still not clear," said Seehofer.

The attack occurred 10 days after a man had pushed a 34-year-old woman past a train in the German city of Voerde.
