in Frankfurt, Germany, when a man pushed them on track when a high-speed train was approaching. According to witnesses, the man deliberately pushed them and then tried to escape.
Several people persecuted and arrested him, after which the subject, who would have been Eritrean, was arrested for the attack that occurred Monday morning.
It was said that the 40-year-old man had tried to push a third person but had failed.
"The boy and his mother were pushed in front of a train and the mother managed to escape." a spokeswoman for the police said. "Unfortunately, the 8-year-old boy was hit by a high-speed train (ICE) and was wounded to death."
Several platforms at Frankfurt station, an important
Transport Center in Germany, were closed after the incident.
The woman was taken to the hospital, but her condition is unknown. The authorities confirmed that they had opened an investigation for murder. The investigators do not believe that the suspect knew the victims and they are not aware of the fact that the attack had any reason.
Interior Minister Horst Seehofer suspended his summer vacation after learning of the attack and announced that he would meet security officials. "The background of this cruel crime is still not clear," said Seehofer.
The attack occurred 10 days after a man had pushed a 34-year-old woman past a train in the German city of Voerde.
