A couple went on holiday to Fiji, contracted a mysterious virus and died

David and Michelle Paul, a couple from Texas, had organized a trip to the heavenly beaches of Fiji. In his itinerary, they included excursions, dinners at local restaurants and shows. But a few days after arriving at the destination of their dreams, tourists they contracted a fulminant virus and died.

According to a survey of New York Post, the Americans had landed on May 22nd. For reasons that are still under investigation, they became ill the same week and had to be admitted to an emergency hospital in a local hospital.

However, the condition of the couple worsened over the days and doctors have made an uncertain diagnosis. To the point that the virus it was not detected in time and the patients are dead. They both had a two year old son and Michelle had a daughter from a previous relationship.

Before the tragic news, the family was devastated and surprised by the rapid evolution of the disease. To clarify the fact, the bodies they were under investigation in the city of Nadi. The Fijian authorities and the US Embbady have indicated that they have so far no knowledge of a virus threatening public health in this region.

Michelle's sister-in-law, Tracey Calanog, said the two tourists they died a few hours apart and that they did not arrive to be transferred to Australia, where more advanced treatment was prescribed.
