It was the freezing moment that a crocodile came out of the water, carrying a man missing from his mouth the day after dragging him by biting his crotch.
Darlin Uti, 30, was diving into the river to repair an underwater pipeline near his home in Sulawesi, Indonesia, when the river beast attacked.
The victim's sister, who was by the river, tried to help Darlin by pulling the hose that he was using to breathe under the water. But the crocodile stirred in the water and disappeared into the depths after sticking his sharp teeth in Darlin's crotch.
The Indonesian authorities immediately began searching for the missing man in the village of Kinapani, on the banks of the Malaoge River. The search and rescue team discovered Uti's body the next day when the crocodile appeared on the surface, the jaw still surrounded by Darlin's body.
The legs and feet of the man can be seen in the video coming out of the water while the huge crocodile floats before submerging again.
The rescuers boarded the boats and finally found Uti's body. They were then returned to her family for funerals.
Usmanudin, a member of the team, said: "There was a big wound in Darlin's groin that could have made him bleed and die, but his body was still intact in the crocodile's mouth. "
Usmanudin also said the Malaoge River was a thriving habitat for crocodiles in the area and warned residents to be careful if they had to go to the water.
Darlin's death comes just two days after another man, Subli, 35, was killed by a crocodile while he was washing his hands in a channel of the Regency of Hilir Indragiri. .
According to the Natural Resource Conservation Center, the number of crocodile attacks in Indonesia has increased over the past year.
Residents were informed to report any sightings of crocodiles immediately to the authorities.
