A disappointment discovered after giving birth to twins of different parents

A woman from the Chinese city of Xianmen gave birth to a pair of twins conceived by different parents, but the infidelity was revealed at the time of registration, after the announcement of the results of the paternity test.

The woman's husband, according to Chinese media that confirmed the news yesterday, was baffled by the fact that the brothers are not alike at all. Only one of them had the features of the father. However, the woman repeated her husband's mistrust many times.

The parent's suspicions were confirmed during the paternity test, a common procedure in China, necessary to record the birth of a baby.

The results, reported by Fujian Zhengthai Forensic Identification Center, showed that the twins came from two different men.

Before the test results were proven, the woman confessed that she had had an adventure the night before her pregnancy.

The husband said that he wanted his son but that he was not willing to raise other children.

The phenomenon, known as "heteropernal superfecundation", is extremely rare. This occurs when the woman releases two eggs simultaneously, which leads to the birth of dizygotic twins, after being fertilized by the sperm of two men. According to a statistical study conducted in the United States, only one pair of dizygotic twins out of 400 is the result of a heteropaternal superfecundation.
