A family stopped to look at the scenery and the car, with a passenger inside, fell off a cliff

The excursion of a chinese family almost ends in tragedy. This is because when the car was braking to take advantage of the valley landscape, the driver did not correctly calculate the distance and the vehicle fell off a cliff with a female passenger inside.

The maddening scene was captured by a camera security in China’s Xinjiang Valley. In the log you can see that the the driver gets out of the car and manages to take a drink in a thermos that he is carrying in his arms, when suddenly the vehicle begins to move forward.

Immediately you hear the screams of a child who opens the back seat door and manages to get out of the car followed by an older woman.

However, another passenger in the front seat cannot unfasten seat belt and get out of the vehicle in time, so that the car rushes off the edge of the cliff and disappears from view.

The scene is horror. As the vehicle with the woman inside disappears from view, the rest of the family watch the fall from above without being able to avoid it.

As reported by Hejing County Emergency Management Office, the passenger who was stuck inside the car managed to survive the fall even though suffered serious hip injuries.

They are investigating if the parking brake has failed

It appears that the man applied the parking brake as the car initially remained in place. The parking brake would have slipped or a cable broke or was inadvertently released by one of the passengers.
