Judith Streng, a 77-year-old grandmother, was on vacation in Iceland with her son Rod and during an excursion she wanted to take a simple but fun photo. On the shore of a beach, he found a iceberg in the form of a throne and he sat there to represent the moment, but everything ended unexpectedly.
The woman from Texas, USA, and her son decided to go to Diamond Beach in Jökulsárlón, the largest glacier lake in the country. There they saw a block of ice and Judith asked her son to take a picture "to feel like a queen".

"It looked like an easy place to sit in. You can see it by looking at its shape, and I thought it would be fun," he told ABC News. Rod took the picture with his mobile phone and sent it to Catherine, his daughter (Judith's granddaughter) who was at his home in the United States. At the bottom of the picture, the man wrote "The queen of the iceberg".
But the following message was worrying for Catherine: the ice block was detached and started to float on the water. In a few seconds, Judith finished a few meters from the shore trying not to fall into the sea. "He lost his kingdom and slipped into the water!"Rod wrote to his daughter and sent him another photo. Although the message was funny, he had to say that it was not a joke.

In the third picture, he showed his mother several meters away, without control of his destiny and at the mercy of the tide. As explained by the grandmother, the idea did not seem risky, but had been surprised by a big wave that was driving the little block of ice.
"When I got on board, it started to wobble and a wave started coming in. A very big wave came and turned the throne into a kind of rock and I gradually slid on the sides," did he declare.

The woman was rescued by the coast guard who was close to her and who suffered no injury. Despite the moment of tension she was experiencing, Judith did not stop joking: "I've always wanted to be a queen and that was my only chance. "
He also explained that he had made the decision to go there because, previously, he had seen that three girls had used him and that he felt safe there. "I do not weigh much, so when he came out, it was easy to float with me," he added.
It was Catherine who posted the photo series on Twitter after receiving fun messages from her father as the incident unfolded.
