A lion tore the scalp of a four-year-old girl on a farm in South Africa.

The city of Heilbron, South Africa, was shocked by the brutal attack of a lion on a four-year-old girl. The animal tore his scalp when he noticed that he had come too close to his little ones. The victim is hospitalized in critical condition.

The girl, known as Dina-Marie de Beer, went with her family for a walk to the Weltevrede Tourist Farm, where visitors could surround themselves with wild specimens and go out pictures

Witnesses reported that the lion was in a cage with several of his cubs. And he reacted violently when he saw that Dina Marie was a few steps away from them.

The victim had to be rushed to a nearby hospital. The injuries that he had to the head were so deep that he had to remove some of his skull to relieve the pressure of the brain.

Local newspapers have explained that this is not the first time that a person is attacked by an animal on this farm. Just a week ago, a man was also bitten by a feline. The owner of the installation, Nico Roets, tried to play down these episodes and pointed out that lions tended to "play rough".
