At least six people died Tuesday when the plane in which they were traveling crashed into two homes in Puerto Montt, southern Chile. One of the houses "was totally burned," the authorities reported.

The Los Lagos region governor, Harry Jürgensen, said the victims were "the pilot of the plane and five pbadengers", but Carabineros said that "according to the control tower of the airfield of La Paloma, the pilot and seven pbadengers were traveling "So we do not know for sure how many people are on board.

The plane crashed between two houses in the Villa Jardín neighborhood, not far from La Paloma airfield, and one of them was on fire. Fortunately, there was no one inside the houses, as was proven in the early reports of the case.

The artefact belonged to the archipelagos air services company and took off from La Paloma airfield in Puerto Montt to Chaitén, two sites in the Los Lagos area. The accident occurred shortly after taking off from the plane.

Archipelagos offers charter flights to eight destinations in the Los Lagos and Aysén regions, which are typically hired by local fishing companies to transport their employees.
