A priest tore off a woman’s jugular: “Death is not going to take care of you”

Honduran priest Rolando Peña has publicly bragged about not wearing a chin strap.

A priest in northwestern Honduras had to come out to apologize after removing the masks from at least two parishioners on Sunday because he considers their use to be “bullshit”.

The event occurred amid the commemoration of the Palm Sunday, in the municipality of Corquín, department of Copán. The controversial moment was recorded by the TV channel Copan On, and some of the footage was broadcast by local media and provoked strong reactions against him on social media.

The priest has been identified as Rolando Peña, 60 years old. Dressed in a red chasuble – as required by the liturgical calendar of Holy Week – boasted of walking without any protection despite the covid-19 pandemic.

“Look how I walk, come on… Take it off, let’s go free, let’s find out,” he said. “Death is going to come to us anyway, this bullshit is not going to deal with death,” Peña said. “I will not leave here until the masks are removed,” he insisted. This Monday, interviewed by the channel HCH, the priest Peña justified his attitude by his way of being “ and said he was joking.
