An active Venezuelan general said that he recognized the opposition president, Juan Guaidó, and that 90 percent of the armed forces were not supporting President Nicolás Maduro, who was increasingly weakened.

"90% of the armed forces are not with the dictator, they are with the people of Venezuela," he added.
In response, the General Command of the Venezuelan Air Force accused the officer of being a traitor in a message broadcast on the social network.
"It's a blow for the FANB, even if it does not have any command," said AFP Rocía San Miguel, military expert.
Guaidó, who will be leading a protest today to demand Maduro's exit from power, offers an amnesty to soldiers trying to break the main support of the government, the armed forces.
