A strong earthquake on the central coast of Chile was felt in Mendoza

A strong shock shook the central coast of Chile this afternoon.

The 6.8 Richter movement was recorded at 3:27 pm and had its epicenter in the Pacific, at the altitude of Valparaiso, 14 km deep.

In Mendoza, the phenomenon had an intensity of II to III Mercali, which indicates that it might have been perceived by some people at rest or in buildings. Moments after the move, hundreds of network users from the province said that they felt "strong".

Up to now, no damage or injury has been reported.
