A teacher sold his car due to financial problems and his students bought it and returned it to him

Marcelo Siqueira He taught history and geography for 26 years at the Doña Carola public school in Curitiba, in Brazil. In addition, he was famous in his neighborhood because he had kept the same car, immaculate, for 49 years.

As told Claudio Martins, one of his former students, at the Brazilian channel RPCEvery time they saw a “beetle” in the street, they knew it was Professor Marcelo. In turn, he pointed out that the man he sat down with them and gave them advice. “It was essential in this part of our children’s lives to think about the future,” he said.

The professor left his mark on each of them. Therefore, after learning of Marcelo’s sad decision, Doña Carola’s alumni created a WhatsApp group and they started to collect money to be able to purchase the vehicle.

When they managed to raise the full amount, they organized a surprise, which included television cameras and the complicity of their son.

Not only did they buy the car and return it, the group also had another surprise up their sleeve: they organized a campaign to be able to remodel the car and leave it like new.

Marcelo spoke with the program Midday and he expressed the great emotion provoked by this exemplary gesture of his former students.

The surprise

In a video, published by Brazilian media, you can see Marcelo wiping his tears emotion with a handkerchief. Behind you hear the applause of his former students, who just gave him the surprise of his life. “It moved me,” he admitted.

It was the end of an unforgettable afternoon, which began with a TV interview with the son of the retired teacher with the excuse of selling this mythical vehicle that had been in his possession for nearly five decades.

While they were waiting for the buyer, they offered Marcelo to give him his last ride in the car how much he wanted.

At that point, a family friend got behind the wheel and, a few meters later, pretend to have stayed. This is where his former students took the opportunity to get closer and surprised him.

They gave you the key to your vehicle and they encouraged him. Marcelo cried with emotion. Later they told him that they were going to fix it to make it new.
