The shooting that took place on Saturday in the state of Texas, which left 7 dead and 22 wounded, was identified as Seth Aaron Ator, 36-year-old resident of Odessa, according to information from the state police department.
According to the portal Heavy, who collects information from the Texas Department of Public Security, notes that Ator had a criminal record. On August 3, 2001, he was charged with a home invasion in McLennan County. He was later charged with escaping his arrest. In February 2002, he pled guilty and was sentenced to 24 months probation.
Although the authorities have not officially announced the motive for the shooting in the cities of Midland and Odessa, information has come in suggesting the possible cause of the attack.

On the morning of the shooting day, Ator lost his job as a truck driver, according to sources quoted by The New York Times. After being stopped by a traffic officer for not having turned on the left turn signal when turning his Honda at 3:17 pm, he made the first shot.
Then he continued to move around the cities, shooting at random people. Finally, he was shot dead by police officers after an intense exchange of bullets in the Cinergy cinema car park.
For its part, the special agent of the FBI in charge, Christopher Combs, announced that the attack had no connection with terrorism. "For the moment, I can tell you that we do not think there is any connection whatsoever with national or international terrorism."He told CNN.
