Clashes between a bus and a truck left at least 24 people dead and a dozen wounded this morning in the west of Bolivia, on the road linking the cities of Potosí and Oruro (south), as reported by the local police. The accident occurred on the same trip where at least 22 people were killed on January 19, and another 37 were injured in a head-on collision between two buses. According to official data, accidents on Bolivian roads have an average of 1,000 deaths per year and approximately 40,000 injuries.
