Hernán Rausch denounces the abuses he suffered between 1985 and 1993 by the priest Justo Ilarrazwhen I was a seminarian in Paraná, Entre Ríos. He was the first to speak but he was followed by other victims. Among them, they were sentenced to 25 years in prison last May. This Tuesday, in the middle of the tour of Pope Francisco in the United Arab Emirates, Rausch asked him to "stop talking and talk" and act against "proven cases of abuse" occurred in the country.
Francisco, who is taking part in a historic visit to the Arab soil, acknowledged the abuses committed by priests and bishops over some nuns and said that he was working to find solutions to this "far-off" situation. . The former seminarian questioned the acts of the pontiff and said he was "disillusioned" by the lack of concrete measures to punish the aggressors.
"Christians, let us say enough tricks and words, the abusers, in all the spaces and all the circumstances, do a lot of harm, and the harm that they do, unfortunately, they do well, hidden, perverse and manipulated, "says Rausch in the letter titled" I adore "Reconversion", to which he agreed Telam.
"It is worth remembering," he continued, "that before becoming pope, you were cardinal, bishop, priest, deacon, seminarian, Catholic, and ordinary citizen, and in that case I I stop to chat so that we can understand each other better and badyze the gospel as a faithful. " .
Rausch stressed that "when one suffers from disappointment, disillusionment begins", but he badured that "the flame of hope still shines in his soul".
"Do not abuse those who still feel this, hope (…) do not increase the disappointment, which is what generates among the faithful some attitudes on their part, such as not acting in front of all the evidence of abuse "Covering under the power of the consecrated", he criticized.
And he continued, "It is unfortunate to see consecrated people defrauding, which is contrary to truth and rectitude."
"His lack of reaction and action discourages the faithful, I invite him to my home, my country, our country. He will be welcome, he will leave his political position and bring certainty, the moment is come, "said Rausch.
"We live in tears and with nightmares"
The victims who testified in this case had to fight to bring before us the priest of Ilarraz, after the crimes were judged prescribed by the judge of Entre Ríos, decision which was overturned by the superior courts up to the conviction. Prior to the conviction, three of the complainants – including Rausch – spoke with TN and said on Calvary that they must live in the priest's hands.
Fabian Schunk, former priest, felt that the process allowed them to close a plague of 30 years: "We were children from very hard realities".
"The priest always arrived at night, after the white lights go out and turn on, he always chose a boy, maybe one who was crying because he missed his family and he went to bed and mistreated them ", remembers Rausch.
"We are living crying, with nightmares," he said, explaining that at that time, none of the young people dared to denounce. "We were very small and far from our families."
