A whale swallowed a diver and then spit it out safe and sound

A diver and photographer who filmed scenes of marine life in Cape Town, South Africa, where he was swallowed by a whale before the astonished stay of his companions. The cetacean moved away from the place and, soon after, spat on a beach near the man, who was safe and sound.

"I immediately knew what had happened," said Rainer Schimpf, 51. "I knew that a whale had come and carried me away, and I instinctively held my breath, baduming it would spit somewhere deep inside the Indian Ocean," he told about what happened about 40 kilometers away. Port Elizabeth Port, east of Cape Town.

Indeed, it is exactly what happened. While everyone was stunned by what was happening, Schimpf held his breath until the whale spit it out, as well as a large number of fish that he had also caught.

"I could feel the pressure on my hips," he said, already cured of great fright. "There is no time to be afraid in such a situation, you have to use your instinct," he said.

Schimpf is director of Dive Expert Tours, which organizes dives for amateurs and professionals to observe marine life.
