This March 22, an accidental blood accident was discovered in the city of Bosa, exactly in the district of Brasilia. According to Bogotá police authorities, inside a residential complex, a young woman murdered her own mother with a knife.
According to Colonel Julio César Salgar, the citizen security commander assured Blu Radio that the young woman had caused fatal injuries to her mother, which resulted in the death of the woman while she was being treated by specialists.
A case of domestic violence and intolerance, where the girl wounds her mother with a knife, causing her serious injuries for which she lost her life.
The young woman was caught in the act by the police authorities and brought to justice to answer for matricide.
The figures of the murders in Bogotá worry the authorities, on August 2 the Bogotá Security Secretariat said that Between January and June of this year, 554 homicides were recorded. By localities, Ciudad Bolívar is the area of the city with the highest number of homicides after registering 101 cases, followed by Kennedy with 73 homicides and Bosa with 63.
RCN Radio reports that the homicide victims are between the ages of 20 and 40 years old, events that occur mainly with guns in the capital of the country.
The National Institute of Forensic Medicine and Forensic Sciences revealed that between January and June 2021, 12,288 Colombians died violently across the country. In this sense, up to the sixth month, 6,220 homicides, 1,259 suicides, 3,320 traffic accidents and 1,489 accidental deaths were recorded.
In this same report, we can read that with regard to gender,10,825 victims are men who died in circumstances such as homicides (5,760), traffic accidents (2,813), accidents (1,229) and suicides (1,023).
As for women, 1,461 died nationwide, 459 from homicides, 507 from traffic accidents, 236 from suicides and 259 from accidents. The report also found that the most violent areas were Antioquia, Bogotá, Cundinamarca and Cauca.
Likewise, the report states that at least 68,769 people were injured and among these, the majority were women with 37,521 cases and 31,248 were recorded in men.
Violence against women continues to show high figures in Colombia despite the efforts of organizations and public entities to end this scourge. The document showed that in the first six months of the year, 8,816 women were victims of interpersonal violence and 8,395 cases of suspected sexual abuse.
Figures revealed that at least 17,554 women were attacked inside their own homes. and 2,534 women were affected in the midst of accidents.
In contrast, 19,809 men were victims of interpersonal violence, 1,282 were sexually abused, 5,109 were registered as victims of domestic violence, 4,613 were injured in traffic accidents and 435 were accidentally affected.
