Abraham Valdelomar, the legendary Peruvian writer to whom Google paid tribute

Google commemorated this Saturday with the doodle the 131st anniversary of the birth of the writer, illustrator and magazine founder literary works, Abraham Valdelomar.

The writer was born in the small coastal town of Pisco, Peru, and moved to the capital with his family at the age of 5 years. He published his first magazine while he was still in school. In 1906 he worked as illustrator for Applause and whistles.

He died at 31 after an accident in 1919. Today, Valdelomar's legacy lives through its prolific writings. His image also appears in the 50 Sol Ticket of Peru, a testimony of his position as one of the country's most esteemed writers.
