An Afghan woman gave birth to a baby on a US military plane that was evacuating her to Germany, she said in Twitter the United States Air Force Air Mobility Command.
The woman was flying from a US base in the Middle East to the US military base in Ramstein, Germany on Saturday when she began to experience contractions and “complications,” according to the tweet.
The captain of the ship “decided to descend to altitude to increase the pressure inside the plane, which (…) saved the life of the mother,” added Air Mobility Command.

Right after landing, the US military assisted with the delivery inside the aircraft.
The mother and daughter were taken to a nearby hospital and are “in good health,” he said.
Images released by the Air Force showed soldiers carrying the woman off the plane on a stretcher.
A week after the Taliban’s victory in Afghanistan, foreign countries are trying to evacuate thousands of their own citizens and local collaborators from Kabul airport in panic and despair.
From August 14, The United States evacuated some 17,000 people, including many Afghan collaborators.
Washington has entered into agreements with Germany and Spain to temporarily accommodate these refugees at US bases in their territories.
