The information that emerged from the flag bearer coincides with statements by Presidential Advisor Cecilia Nicolini, who estimated that the vaccine could be in the country on December 23.

“The procedures for entering vaccines into the country are being finalized,” Aerolineas Argentinas sources told the NA agency. In Moscow, while waiting for the flight to collect the first doses, there is already a delegation made up of the Deputy Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, Nicolini and four technicians from the National Administration of Drugs, Food and of medical technologies (ANMAT).

Vizzotti had already made a previous trip to Russia with members of ANMAT to learn the technical details of the vaccine and to advance the local authorization that Sputnik V must have for application in Argentina.

President Alberto Fernández specified that the objective of this second trip to Vizzotti was “to clarify in situ all the doubts to be raised on the conditions of production and the quality of the vaccine”.

For his part, Nicolini announced that the authorities of the Gamaleya Institute “share all the information and everything we need on quality control and technology to finally authorize its use in Argentina, and they have answered all our questions” .
