The company specializing in private flights American Jet has announced the integration of two aircraft in its fleet and its launch on the market commercial scheduled flights. The airline, which is clearly private capital, intends to occupy its unused capacity by operating low density roads with small planes, where the demand is not sufficient to cover large commercial flights.

With the integration of the two Embraer 145 aircraft, with a capacity of 50 people each – one of
The local short-haul airline, Lasa, and another that were previously operated by the American United – the company completes a fleet of 10 different aircraft, which can be made available depending on the scale of the demand on each route.

"For years, they asked us to fly with Malargüe-Mendoza, for example, and they could perhaps be perfectly covered with a 19-seat turboprop," said Sabrina Roszuk, chief commercial officer of the airline. company, during a presentation that is held today at Aeroparque. .

The company's main customers are the oil and mining companies, to which it provides a personnel transportation service. It has its main operational center in the city of Neuquén and, like Aeroparque, it has its own maintenance and ramp service. "We know that the airline market is in a pivotal state and that scheduled flights do not generate significant revenues, but we want to leverage our unused capacity by absorbing existing demand," said Roszuk.

The company did not anticipate the routes that would begin to operate, but said that they would be in principle two and that they would be active before the end of the year. "We have strong demand in the province of Buenos Aires and in the oil corridor that connects Rosario-Córdoba-Neuquén-Comodoro Rivadavia," said the official.

In 2017, the National Administration of Civil Aviation
(ANAC) rewarded by 13 routes: seven international (from Neuquén and, with different stops, ending in Punta Arenas, Santiago de Chile, Tarija, Asuncion, Punta del Este and Porto Alegre) and six cabotages (which from Neuquen and different scales end in Ushuaia, Falkland Islands, Puerto Iguazú, Buenos Aires). The company is able to reconfigure both the scales, origins and destinations of these routes, which have three intermediate stops and include many other cities such as Malargüe, Tucumán, Río Gallegos and Calafate. It will be the eighth company to operate regular flights in the country.

As for the prices at which it will offer its regular services, American Jet said that it could not be part of the figure of
low costbut that will not have "ridiculous rates". As they explained, the strategy is to signal a weak but steady demand, with flat rates: no promotions or increases in high season.

The company was founded 35 years ago by businessman Jorge Rodríguez, chairman of the company, his majority partner and no other company apart from American Jet. He currently has 135 employees, to which he will soon add 15 people on stage. Training
