Alberto Fernández celebrated the 9th anniversary of the law of equal marriage

This July 15th 9 years have pbaded since the enactment of the Marriage Equality Actafter the two Houses of the Congress of the Nation, after long debates, gave the green light to the reform of certain articles of the Civil Code. Alberto Fernández, presidential candidate of Frente de Todos, celebrated the regulations promoted and promulgated by Kirchnerism, which he described as "vanguard in the extension of rights".

The law was adopted by the deputies with 126 votes in favor, 110 against and four abstentions. In the Senate, the vote was 33 in favor, 27 against and 3 abstentions. The regulations have amended certain articles of the Civil Code such as "Rights in family relations", "Of conjugal society" and other articles.

The most important change is that of Article 172, which defines marriage between a man and a woman and is replaced by "contracting parties". He added: "This will have the same requirements and effects, whether the parties are of the same bad or of a different bad."
