Alberto Fernández met Pedro Castillo after the inauguration in Peru

Fernández also held parallel meetings with the Peruvian presidential party. One was with the President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, who invited him to Quito for the month of August. Alberto F. had criticized the police repression of demonstrations by young people in Colombian streets and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bogotá rejected these criticisms.

Alberto F., who returns home this Thursday, met Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard and his friend and former President of Bolivia, Evo Morales.

“Beyond the differences I’m very happy, it seemed like a good speech, with a lot of future projections; we could really join Castillo’s words,” Fernández said when he was in the Peruvian Congress.

Fernández traveled to Peru not only to ratify his support for Castillo, but also to solicit votes to chair the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). At that time, he was supported by various governments, from Colombia to Venezuela.

Later, Fernandez met the Ecuadorian President, who won the elections against the favorite of President and Vice President Cristina Kirchner: Correista Andrés Arauz.
