President Alberto Fernández spoke this Saturday evening with the King of Spain, Felipe VI, on the intensification of relations between the European country and Latin America, during a hearing they held in the city de La Paz, where they meet to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of Bolivia, Luis Arce. “It’s always nice to talk to the King, we’re friends and have known each other for many years. We addressed the issue of intensifying relations between Latin America and Spain, ”Fernández said of the meeting with the monarch.

Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, Fernández observed that “unfortunately, Spain helped Argentina by example” in the fight against this disease, because “it allowed us to know what was going to happen”.

The President was accompanied to the audience by Foreign Minister Felipe Solá; the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo de Pedro; the Minister for Women, Gender and Diversity, Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta; the secretaries of strategic affairs, Gustavo Beliz; General of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello, and of Communication and Press, Juan Pablo Biondi; and Senator Jorge Taiana, among others.

The vice-president of social rights and Agenda 2030 in the government, Pablo Iglesias; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Arancha González, among other officials.

Fernández arrived in Bolivia this afternoon to participate tomorrow in the inauguration ceremony in La Paz of the president-elect of that country, Luis Arce, while on Monday he will bid farewell to Evo Morales in La Quiaca, who will start a caravan of return to his country, after taking refuge in Argentina following the coup d’état he suffered a year ago.

The president’s agenda will continue on Sunday morning, where he is expected to participate in a bilateral meeting with his Colombian counterpart, Iván Duque, and after the official events, he will meet with Ecuador’s presidential candidate Andrés Arauz.

The inauguration ceremony will take place tomorrow at the Multinational Legislative Assembly, in the city of La Paz, from 10 a.m. local time (11 a.m. in Argentina).
