The former president of Peru Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000) was transferred Friday evening to a clinic in Lima for treatment for a drop in oxygen saturation in the blood.His lawyer, César Nakasaki, said this Saturday.

The lawyer said on Twitter that Fujimori, who is serving a 25-year prison sentence for crimes against humanity, present “A serious oxygen saturation problem” that could not be overcome with the care he received in prison.

Friday, The Peruvian government has approved six requests to Chile to extend his extradition, so that he can be prosecuted for murder, grievous bodily harm, kidnapping and corruption offenses..

Fujimori was arrested in 2005 in Chile and extradited to Peru in 2007 to be treated by corruption and crimes against humanity, which resulted in several convictions, including 25 years in prison for the massacres of Barrios Altos and La Cantuta, committed in 1991 and 1992, respectively, by the secret military group hill.
