Alert in the United States for a filming at Aventura Mall, the popular shopping center in South Florida

A gunman fired on the bustling Aventura mall in South Florida on Saturday afternoon. Police warned that the incident is still ongoing.

Videos posted on social media show panic scenes of people fleeing the resort, 17 miles north of Miami, and Witness footage reveals that the shots hit several people and that a suspect has been arrested.

“I am with my family at the Aventura shopping center. There was a very big shoot. I am with my babies, my wife, my mother-in-law and my mother. I managed to get them all out and I’m on the roof of the parking lot with them. We are scared. PLEASE watch the news and let me know if you can get out, ”said one Twitter user who is at the scene.

As reported by the channel Local 10 News, customers and employees hid in various stores inside the mall amid the shooting. So far, no injuries or deaths have been reported.

Police are still looking for the shooter and firefighters are deployed in the area and planning to enter when the police say it is safe to do so.

Aventura Mall is one of the largest shopping centers in Florida, with over 200,000 square meters spread over three floors with over 200 stores.

On May 29, a shooting also took place at the Aventura shopping center, which left at least two injured. This fact just happened one week after their reopening Miami shopping malls, affected by restrictions to contain the coronavirus pandemic. The injured were immediately taken to a hospital in the area.
