AMLO offers Trump a plan to stop migration

The Mexican president presented a comprehensive proposal involving the Central American countries to the American president.

US President Donald Trump already has a letter from Mexico's President-elect Andrés Manuel. López Obrador, in the letter that details a plan to stop the illegal migration towards the United States, as announced Sunday.

The plan includes the creation of a development fund that would be intended to fight poverty as one of the roots of the migration problem. The proposal, handed over to Trump through the intermediary of state secretary Mike Pompeo, would also involve several Central American countries

Now, the virtual Mexican leader claims to be "encouraged" by the fact that "we both know how to accomplish what we say" as he wrote to Trump.

On the other hand, López Obrador the opportunity to decriminalize drugs – starting with marijuana and the pharmaceutical use of poppies – to combat violence, another cause of migratory flows.
