Two American tourists were found dead in a hotel in the Dominican Republic. Neither of them presented "visible signs of violence", reported the national police.

According to the Efe news agency, the couple was found by members of the public prosecutor's office and the national police. The deceased were identified as Nathaniel Edward Holmes, 63; and Cynthia Ann Day, 49.

Their bodies were transferred to the unit of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) of the province of San Pedro de Macorís (east) to conduct the autopsy, while the authorities have deepened the surveys.

Tourists stayed at the hotel, located between San Pedro de Macoris and La Romana, from May 25th. They had planned their stay until May 30th.
