An Argentine rescuer rescued a child from drowning in Palma de Mallorca

An Argentine rescuer saved a child from drowning by throwing himself into the sea on the beach of Can Pere Antoni, in Palma de Mallorca, in the middle of a difficult race that caused him many inconveniences and put his life in danger.

The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon. Macarena Cabrujo had finished her day's work and played volleyball with a friend.

When night began to open, he noticed that a group of people was watching the sea and pointing to a person who was dragged by the strong race.

"I went into the water and asked if anyone could accompany me to help me." Since I did not have the time, I told them to call the (emergency department) 112, "he told the local press, Macarena.

"I thought you were not going out with me because I'm black," the boy said to Macarena.

"The sea was pulling very hard and although I could withstand hours at sea, I knew the risk I was facing," he said.

As he was swimming towards the place, the lifeguard realized that whoever was going to be dragged by the powerful waves was a 10 year old boy. "That's where I thought or we both went out or drowned," said the young woman.

"When I reached her height, I could not stand it any longer and it sank, I caught her and took her head out of the water," she said. he declared. The first thing he did was try to rebadure the child. "I told him to stay calm, we were going out, but I knew we were playing, the current was shooting a lot," he said.

Although the boy is in his arms, obstacles have started to appear. One of them was trying to go from one buoy to the other. The girl said that despite the situation, the boy made a comment that moved him: "I thought you were not going out with me because I'm black," he said. declared with his few forces.

Finally, the young Argentinian managed to reach the next buoy. "I hung my finger in an instant, I let myself go and the water dragged me over two meters," he explained.

The situation of Macarena and the boy were warned for a boat of practitioners from the Spanish port. However, the strong swell and current prevented both from boarding although they launched a float to be able to approach the coast.

"I asked those of the ship not to take their eyes off them.I armed myself with courage.I told the boy to hold himself tight to the float and we approached," said Macarena. during a dialogue with the Diario de Mallorca.

Macarena admitted that the last 200 meters of swimming were endless. But his mission was a success: "I gave him a big hug and I kissed him, I have never been in such a difficult situation," he said.
