An elephant crushes a poacher and the lions eat his corpse

An elephant crushed a man who was trying to poach a rhinoceros and a flock of lions ate his body later in Kruger National Park, South Africa's largest game reserve, reported the Daily Mail.

According to British media reports, three of the victim's friends fled and warned the hunter's family, who contacted the park authorities to locate the body of his next-of-kin. This Thursday, the guards found the only thing left of the deceased: the skull and the pants.

"Entering Kruger National Park illegally and on foot is not safe, this is fraught with danger and this incident is a good illustration," said Park Executive Director Glenn Philips, who explained that the three companions of the deceased had been arrested and seized two shotguns and ammunition for not having a license. Philips said that those arrested will be brought to justice, while an investigation into the case has been opened.
