An explosive corpse killed 18 people in Mali

The episode occurred on the morning of February 25 in the province of Mopti, central Mali, where a man was missing a few days ago when I went looking for grazing for livestock.

The family of the man found his body inside a vehicle and came looking for her without suspecting that the body had been loaded with an explosive device between his clothes and his skin that exploded when they touched him.

The explosion was such that 18 people, all of the Dogon ethnic group, died on the spot. For that it is suspected that there was a terrorist attack of the Peul ethnic group, the other majority group of the Mopti region.

In recent years, clashes between the Dogon and Fulani have multiplied: the ethnic question and the attempt to control the territory are aggravated by the mistrust of the latter. by the links they have with jihadist cells.

Sheikh Amadou Kouffa, one of the most prominent leaders of the Fulani, founded the the Macina Liberation Front, an al-Qaeda-linked group.

The two organizations formed the group Nusrat al Islam Wal Muslimin, the leading jihadist group in the Sahel region, which extends from the Sahara desert to the savannah of Sudan.
