An orangutan received 74 shots and became blind while his one month old baby died as a result of the attack.

An orangutan who was shot 74 times in a "wild attack", was blinded by injuries, a week after her baby died of starvation, reports the British newspaper Mirror.

Rescuers discovered the 30-year-old primate, now called Hope, with 74 balls in his body, nestled on the ground in the Aceh forests, Indonesia, on March 9th. He had been hit several times during an unprovoked "wild attack", environment advocates said.
