An anesthesiologist from UK was accused of injecting drugs to his partner during “exorcism ceremonies”. The woman came close to death.
Hossan Metwally, 60, recorded for four years the moments when he injected fluids to his partner, Kelly Wilson, singing and reciting phrases from the Quran. During the debate, the anesthesiologist did not regret the events, but pointed out that he did so to help his partner and out of kindness.
“She was a nice and beautiful girl who turned into a monstersaid the man who received his medical degree in Egypt.
Metwally was convinced that Wilson was possessed by supernatural spirits and had to eliminate them recite verses from the Quran, put holy water and put oils on his skin.
These rituals were performed in at least 250 times and there are a dozen recordings that started in 2016 and lasted four years.
Metwally was arrested after Wilson fell into a coma on July 4, 2019. The woman was on the verge of cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital that day.
During the investigation, the police found a “large amount of drugs” in the doctor’s house, including ketamine, propofol, fentanyl and diazemuls.
The doctor has been found guilty and will be sentenced next month. Following the conviction, Judge Jeremy Richardson said he “had never been involved in a foreign matter”.
“It is a shocking circumstance that a doctor, a health professional, is on the dock awaiting a conviction for such a serious criminal charge,” added the magistrate.
