The governments of Argentina and Great Britain have agreed today that the new plane from Malvinas Islands to Córdoba will start working from next october, which marks the beginning of the tourist season in the South Atlantic.
At a meeting between the Argentine Foreign Minister, Jorge Faurie, and his British counterpart, Alan Duncan, which was held in Canada as part of the meeting of ministers of "Grupo Lima" which has increased pressure against the Venezuelan regime the central guidelines of the agreement signed in 2016 between Mauricio Macri and Prime Minister Theresa May.
According to the record at Infobae Qualified sources at the Department of Foreign Affairs agreed in Ottawa that since October LATAM will begin operating weekly flights from San Pablo to the Malvinas Islands with two monthly stops in Córdoba.
"The idea is to make the most of the summer season and advance the bilateral agreements," said a San Martin Palace official.
In this way, the agreement that began to be negotiated from 2016 will be finalized in order to broaden the air frequency between Malvinas and the mainland. Until now, the islanders have only one weekly flight from Latin America via Chile, which stops once a month in Rio Gallegos. The islanders had been calling for this extension of the air link for some time in order to maintain increased activity on the continent and boost tourism.
At the Faurie and Duncan meeting, the idea of giving sustainability to fisheries control operations in the South Atlantic region was also discussed. For example, the inauguration by Argentinian and British scientists of an operation already underway on the scientific control of the predation of squid and hake is confirmed.
At the bilateral meeting of Foreign Ministers in Canada, Faurie and Duncan also discussed the extension of economic agreements between Argentina and Britain. These include the possibility of establishing future joint ventures in the exploration of hydrocarbons in the South Atlantic region and the increase of the trade balance.
