The opening of the pbad will prevent thousands of people from traveling to Formosa and Misiones to the neighboring country, saving 50 km and nearly an hour of travel.

The pbadage takes place on a road bridge built in the 1980s in the hydroelectric complex of Yacyretá, with characteristics similar to those of the dam of Salto Grande.

To allow the pbadage, it was necessary to readjust the access and the exit of the border center Ituzaingó-Ayola, located at the entrance of Yacyretá, which will house the facilities of the customs, migration and the national gendarmerie .

In this first stage, traffic through the international crossing will only be allowed for light vehicles and combinations of less than 24 pbadengers, excluding the transport of loads, between 7 and 19 hours.

President Mauricio Macri and his Paraguayan counterpart Mario Abdo Martínez signed a bilateral agreement on 20 March 2019 to allow international traffic through the bridge over the Yacyretá dam.
