The secretary was accompanied by Undersecretary for Agricultural Markets Jesús Silveyra; the agricultural attaché in India with competition in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka, Mariano Beheran; the ambbadador of Argentina in India, Daniel Chuburu; and the president of CIARA-CEC, Gustavo Idigoras.

In return, Beheran stated that "Argentina is the first world exporter of soybean oil, India being our main destination. We have embarked on a solid path to increase sunflower oil shipments, in particular, and diversify our supply, by adding more agricultural products that increase exportable volume. "

During the visit, the Argentine delegation identified opportunities for olive oil, pears and apples, the yerba mate and expand the wine market, while other products such as grapes, blueberries and citrus fruits are being negotiated.

In this context, the agri-food industry leaders discussed the deepening of the treaty between Mercosur and India, following the considerable progress made with the signing of the recent agreement between this bloc and the European Union.
