In a recent study on soda consumption in the world, Argentina was in second position, behind Germany, which is the country that consumes the most of this "drink".
According to the results, in 2017, 2.361 million liters of grbad were consumed in Argentina, positioning itself as the second largest country in the world – in volume – with the highest consumption of this drink. Germany almost doubled the volume of consumption of this drink, with a total of 4 711 million liters of soda and the third place was Russia, the United States and Italy.
But what are the roads through which Argentines are supplied with soda? These remain also constant until today and the traditional "sodero" appears for the first time on the scene. 69% receive the product at home while 19% buy it through the retail channels – whether they are traditional or modern – and finally the remaining 12% via the On channel Premise (hotels, restaurants, etc.). The study also points out that more and more Argentines are opting for systems to make their own soda, like the old Drago siphons and the SodaStream system.
The soft drink is very controversial in terms of the impact on health. While research published in the 2002 edition of the "European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology" discovered that the consumption of carbonated water eliminates the symptoms of dyspepsia, indigestion and constipation and is highly recommended for diets as it has no calories; others point out that in the long run, it can promote hypertension and overacidity.
