Argentina will concretize tomorrow the first concrete gesture of humanitarian aid to Venezuela: the first cargo containing 29 tons of food and hygiene will go from San Juan to the Colombian border to try to move to the territory managed by Nicolás Maduro's scheme.
The dispatch will constitute the first concrete action of the administration of Mauricio Macri as part of the international pressure strategy against the Venezuelan dictatorship.
As confirmed at Infobae Elisa Trotta, Ambbadador of the Acting President of Venezuela Juan Guaidó, the operation of humanitarian aid that will leave San Juan with the support of the White Helmets of the Argentine Chancellery was possible thanks to the support of Venezuelans who have been collecting food for their compatriots in recent months and the contribution of the food business Lomas del Sol.
"We hope that food and hygiene products will be able to enter Venezuela to help our compatriots, for which we already have logistical support from Guaidó and MP Miguel Pizarro, heads of the Humanitarian Aid Committee". said Trotta.
In fact, of the 29 tons of humanitarian aid that will leave tomorrow from San Juan to be sent by sea to Colombia, 26 tons were offered by the Lomas del Sol company and the rest by the campaign led by Trotta and White Helmets, added to the support of more than 280 Venezuelan volunteers. All this campaign has had the strong support of the Venezuelan community in Argentina. In the last three years, more than 150,000 Venezuelans exiled from the Maduro regime have entered the country.
The shipment includes foods such as oil, rice, corn, tin cans and personal hygiene products such as toothpaste and soap. There will be no drugs in the containers that will be sent avoid the problems of phytosanitary barriers.
The President of the White Helmets Commission, Alejandro Daneri he explained to Infobae that "entry into Venezuelan territory is not badured as it does not depend on Argentina, that is why we are talking about pre-positioning humanitarian aid while waiting that the opportunity arises ".
It happens that the Venezuelan regime prevented last March from receiving food aid from many countries that have been transporting food cargoes from the Colombian border. In fact, the soldiers who responded to Maduro burned trucks containing some of this aid.
The leaders of the company Lomas del Sur, specializing in the preparation and export of raisins and plums, pointed out that the president of the company based in San Juan, Francisco Paladini, "has a very strong commitment to Venezuela and also helps different sectors of the Argentine society".
The White Helmets Commission has already put forward a collaborative strategy agreed with Colombia to provide humanitarian medical care to Venezuelan migrants in the border town of Cucuta, where Argentinian doctors have treated 5,160 patients.
Now, this commission presiding Daneri under the supervision of Chancellor Jorge Faurie will have the task of ensuring the logistics so that the shipment arrives at the border with Venezuela.
"Argentina's support to Venezuela was fundamental not only to launch the demands of democracy, but also to welcome the Venezuelan people and provide much-needed humanitarian aid to our compatriots, which will materialize in the next few years. days from the other side of the Colombian border. "said Ambbadador Trotta.
