Argentina was the last in the ranking of the happiest countries

The latest ranking by the global consulting firm Ipsos revealed that Argentina was the last stage of the happiest countries in the world.

The firm has shown that two-thirds of adults in the world, or 64%, in 28 countries, are considered happy. However, at the international level, the prevalence of happiness has dropped six points from 70% in 2018, according to the new survey entitled "Happiness is declining in the world".

Meanwhile, it remains three points higher than March 2017 (61%), but 13 points lower than its 77% level in December 2011.

According to the survey, happiness is more prevalent in:

  • Australia and Canada, both with 86% of adults saying they are "very" or "somewhat" happy,
  • Followed by China and Britain, with 83 percent, and
  • France, with 80%.

In the same order of ideas, the countries where the incidence of adults declaring themselves very happy is the highest are:

  • Canada, with 29%.
  • Australia, Saudi Arabia and India, with 28%.
  • Great Britain and the United States, with 27%.

On the contrary, only a minority of adults say they are happy:

  • Argentina, 34 percent
  • Spain, 46 percent and
  • Russia, 47%.

In this sense, those with the highest proportion of adults who say they are unhappy are:

  • Argentina, with 19 percent.
  • Turkey, with 14 percent, and
  • Japan, with 11%.
